And thought, hmm, why not Dosbox?? 😀 Unfortunately it sems to be just way to expensive to do. But I'm curious if someone thought it really could be possible, we could perhaps get a fund going to purchase the supplies for someone to play around with this.

I guess it would be a thin client dosbox exe that you launch and it just communication with the chip on the PCB which contains all the real dosbox implementation code. Or something, I don't know. I want to see what others think about. I'm pretty impressed with the Amiga project
