Hi,
I've used dosbox (under Linux) too get my favorite DOS-game (X-COM) working. However I also run steam in Wine.
Today I bought the X-COM Pack (using Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/sub/964/) I ran two of the games "Ufo Defense" and "Terror From THe Deep" (both work like charm). I think "they" are using DOSBox to get the DOS-games working. I see no hint saying theyre using GPL'ed Software to run the games.

Isn't DOSBox "pure" GPL ? Is this legal ?

Puzzled,
Nils

It is quite legal provided that they follow a few basic rules, like including the DOSBox copyright notice, license text, etc, and offer their customers a way to get both the DOSBox binary and the source code.
