hey would it be possible to make dosbox.conf invisible under Linux ?

normally the conf in the home directory are invisible under *nix.
You can make your own config file, name it as you want and use it by specifying in DOSBOX command line.
Otherwise I think defauls should be the same on all platforms. And having file beginning with . on Windows would just confused a lot of people.
Already as it is now there are occasionaly questions like: how do I edit DOSBOX.CONF? (Windows newbies are confused by Unix extension CONF).
