In order to play CGA games with my old 8088-10MHz Hercules, I needed to load a CGA emulator for Hercules graphics.

Using CGA emulators in DOSBOX make the games to display in color (CGA) instead the monochrome simulation.

hercules is monocrome so no way you got colors there.
Real cga has colors. So does dosbox.

Well, I you select Hercules in DOSBOX video card option you must never see another color than white and black. But selecting this option, you get CGA colors using a CGA emulator.
