First let me say thank you to the creators of this great program.

I did a search and I did not see my current problem come up

my joystick is attached to the game port of my nForce 1 motherboard and is detected when I set the CPU cycles to 7500, however it isn't detected when I increase the CPU cycles beyond that in the dosbox.conf file. Is there a reason that increasing the CPU cycles causes DOSBox to drop the joystick support? Is there a way for me to force the joystick detection?
I'd like to be able to keep the joystick working as I increase the CPU cycles.

For reference, my system is an Athlon XP 1700+ w/ 512 MB of memory on an NForce 1 motherboard. I run a dual boot Windows XP and gentoo linux system. On Windows, I am using the .61 release and on gentoo, I am using the CVS that I emerged and compiled myself. The problem occurs on both versions of DOSBox.

Thank you,

Brandon Young

xp1700 can't handle that much above 7500 cycles.

Anyway if you set it too high. Dosbox can't handle it's internal timings and irq will get too late to your application. Then it doesn't detect it.

Dosbox itself should detect it though ( if this isn't the case) please post a followup
