MIDI or PC Speaker in Titus The Fox

Postby msayed1977 » 2019-4-12 @ 17:30

When I run "RUNME.BAT" in Titus The Fox game with auto CPU speed, it runs with MIDI sound.
When I do the same with "50000" cycles per second, the game runs with PC Speaker sound.
Please tell me if that is normal or not, and what to do.
I hope there will be a fix for that if it is a bug.

The game fails to detect the sound card with too many cycles:

Quite a few games fail to detect sound hardware with high cycles because they use counter loops instead of more accurate timing methods.

50K cycles is definitely excessive for a 1992 game.

BTW, cycles in DOSBox are CPU instructions per millisecond, so 50K cycles is 50 million instructions per second.
