I'd like to make a few modifications to dosbox just for fun and came to realise that there's not alot of documentation (suffice to say- none!) available. That's not a big problem > though admittedly somewhat frustrating, so I've got a few questions I'd interested to know.

Where did the DosBox developers find information pertaining to:

- CPU Flags (i.e. for 386, 486 etc)
NB: I'm assuming this is from intel developer manuals or something similar. Linkage?

- CMOS Based Info/Specifications
- Protected Mode
- IPX Protocol
- Dealing with memory allocation.

I've got a long way to go yet on learning this sort of stuff- your help is appreciated..

Thanks

OK a little bit of researching and I'm figuring some stuff out. For those who also would like to follow along, I read this article (http://code.box.sk/newsread.php?newsid=205) and it explained a huge amount. This is the sort of stuff that *should* be documented!

Also there are some tech help/docs specifically written during the DOS 5.0 and 6.0 era below in the
"Some DOS Documentation" thread written by the Flambeaux company

(run them in DOSBox 😉)
