When I try to run STJR on DOSBox, it clicks twice and sticks.

I remember when I ran it on my Win95 computer back in the day, I needed a boot disk from Interplay because the game looks for at least 1 MB of EMS memory, which apparently my computer didn't have, so the BD told the game to bypass that requirement.
