I bought the Commander Keen games from Steam and I'd like to play them on my retro PC.

I copied the DOSBox folder to my DOS 6.22 drive, but the games want to run in Windows instead of DOS mode.

I have Windows 3.11 and 98 too, but I don't know where to put the folders to run the games.

I've run plenty of Dosbox games in regular DOS. I'm not sure about Keen, but normally you just have to find the correct executable to run. I assume that you're trying to run the game's executable not Dosbox itself?

You are correct.

I bought the first Warcraft game from Blizzard and it came in DOSBox as well, but copying those folders worked fine in real DOS.

Keen seems to want Windows.

You are correct.

It doesn't sound like it. The keen games are each in the base1, base2, etc. directories and the executables are named keen1.exe, keen2.exe etc.
Exactly which executables are you trying to run?

The wrong ones, apparently.

Thanks for your help!
