When playing Supaplex (by: Dream Factory, 1991) with DOSBox 0.73 running in EGA (instead of SVGA_s3) mode, there's an annoying bug: 9 out of 10 times Murphy (the character controlled by the player) immediately dies (explodes) when I enter a level.

Also, the few times this didn't happen I have noticed that the graphics aren't updated very quickly while scrolling (moving the player character using the arrow keys) through a level.

Now, I could play Supaplex in SVGA mode with no problems at all, but the fact that it doesn't run properly in EGA mode (which the game supports if I'm not mistaken) indicates a problem with DOSBox.

The computer I'm using is a Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop. Windows XP Professional, 2.13ghz Pentium M, ATI Mobility Radeon X300 (128mb video RAM), 2gb DDR2 SDRAM (Dual channel, 533mhz), SigmaTel C-Major Audio, motherboard: unknown.

See attached file for DOSBox configuration.

BTW:
I couldn't find anything related to this problem in the Readme.

The spfix63.exe doesn't work correctly with either of my two EGA cards (I've tried certain startup parameters). I don't have the original supaplex.exe though.

Appears to have been fixed in DOSBox 0.74...
