In your host evironment make a 1G ramdisk
(Imdisk(pretty good tool with source code...) gavotte ramdisk for windows)
use bximage make a 512M image on 1G ramdisk
prepare win98se.iso , boot98_floppy.img(extract from win98se.iso)
start dosbox , (with dosbox.conf mem=64M, cpu Pentium slow, svga_s3)
mount 512M image, boot from boot98_floppy.img
fdisk 512M image, restart dosbox ,
mount 512M image, boot from boot98_floppy.img
format 512M image with system (format c:/s)
copy himem.sys c:
make a config.sys : device=c:/himem.sys /testmem:off
restart dosbox,
mount 512M hd, mount win98se.iso, copy cdrom win98 to 512M hd c:\w
restart dosbox
mount 512M image , boot from 512M image,

dude is this really true, Dosbox is capable of Windows 9x ?????

I am aroused about any X86 motherboard that has full functional ISA slot. I think i have problem. Not really into that original (Turbo) XT,286,386 and CGA/EGA stuff. So just a DOS nut.
PS. If I upload RAR, it is a 16-bit DOS RAR Version 2.50.

No. You would need some kind of "WinBox", not DOSBox.

dosbox had many dos'game as it's testCase.
windows 98se is another testcase.
play-game is a funny memory.
re-install win9x is a conquer&quest&retry old-bad-day memory.
not-for-game or not-for-dos don't get any official support.

In windows 98, more disk-technology(like Ultra-dma), and more 32-bit driver
dependency. I think windows 98 not stable in dosbox is caused by DISK_IO too slow (compatible old int13) cause OS internal timeout

Uhm before misinformation spreads even further let's close this "discussion". Use bochs for win9x.
