Specs=500mhz k6/2, GeForce 2 pro (29.42), SoundBlaster LIVE! (0905), 512 sdram/dimm.
Crusader= Used "full install", V.1.01.
===============================================
The problem is when I try to run crusader.exe I get this error message:
"Unable to open file (null), in file FILE\FASTFLEX.C, line 38."
There was a topic of this earlier but there wasn't a direct anwer for the problem.
I tried that "memsize=32 XMS=true EMS=false" -settings but it didn't work. Thanks!

well I checked and 1.05 was of no regret.

Try fiddling somemore with memory.
(try xms=off)

1) Do you have a working Crusader CD?
2) Is it in the CD-ROM drive?
3) did you mount the cdrom in dosbox?

Usually when it shows such a message (cant open blablabla) the game can't find the files which are located on the CD.

i got the same prob no matter what version i had...
dont use ......mount E E:\ -t cdrom (whenever i use this i have probs running games from CD-Rom)
just use mount E E:\

i have the cd's..what i did was copy the cd into a folder on C: and then install the game from there in dosbox .61

it worked for me,but doest mean it will for you,but tryin wont do any harm.

How you can copy those because I tried that but it started to complain something about copy protection while copying.

in windows explorer go to your cd drive and highlight all the files and right click and copy.then make a new folder on c:\cnr and then paste the files into that folder.

then open dosbox and go to c:\cnr and install the game.....

I also have trouble with Crusader: No Remorse, but trouble of different nature...

with today's build, I get "DOS interrupt error - check the installation guide for more info." ... full installation from original cd, version is 1.01 ...

did you try upgrading to 1.05??
Does this error come up while you installing the game OR trying to run it??

did you try ems=false??
What command do you have you CD Drive mounted??
dont use ......mount E E:\ -t cdrom (whenever i use this i have probs running games from CD-Rom)
just use mount E E:\

YAY it worked! All was about that "-t cdrom" command. Now I need to figure out why this is lagging so much 😁

i believe Crusader wants a 486 dx2 66 (as minimum)
No way you're going to make that in dosbox with any pc available at the moment.
Get a 5 GHz machine 😉

the same thing happened to me and it worked when i changed it to
mount E E:\
Instead of mount E E:\ -t cdrom
good the hear it worked for you too!!
The lagging..here is the settings i used and it runs smoothly

cpu cycles=10000
frameskip=4
mem=64

give it a try..
