When I try to run the CD version of System Shock under DosBox 0.61 I get the following message:

Our system has been shocked!! But remember to Salt The Fries
System Shock can no longer run due to a fatal error.
Error code 2004
Resource error
Could not find palette
Try setting FILES=30 in config.sys

I get that message when I start the game using VDMSound (intro runs ok), not to mention an error concerning com1 port...so I went to DOSBox 0.61 and it works fine after tweaking with the sound (I didn't get voice on my first log, but email voice worked ok...so maybe the first log has no voice feature). Anyway, I'd do the sound install while in DOSBox (and test as well) to make sure the configuration is ok.

I got that error once on the cd version but it was because I did not have the cd in the drive. I have a dvd rom and a dvd writer and had put the cd in the wrong one. When I ran it again with the disk in the correct drive I didn't get the 2004 error.
