Does anyone here know how I can get Windows 1.01 running in DOSBox?

You can't....not unless you can program.
So you're saying that DOSBox is capable of running Windows 3.1 but not at all capable of running an OS much simpler?
PiMP-Master J
The OS is simpler, yes....but DosBox doesn't emulate what it requires....and there's no incentive to program in support since DosBox is a DOS GAME emulator. Not a Windows emulator.
Windows 3.1 support was added (unofficially) to support Windows 3.x games.
Hm, so would you know of any emulators that could help me out?

Maybe qemu or bochs?
Yeah, try qemu. It doesn't have half the emulated hardware, but in return it has wonderful CPU emulation. Windows users probably only need a SB anyways. 😉 Besides, qemu is almost as painless to use as dosbox, no special drivers (as in vmware) needed and better out-of-the-box configuration (and performance) than bochs.
I think windows 1.x would run using disk images+msdos as well
under dosbox.
Oh, & I looked back in the forums, I'm not the first one to ask this question (obviously), but the problem in the code that's causing win 1.x-2.x not to work might be the problem in some games, so by not fixing the code, you hate video games, & therefore you support Jack Thomson!

No, it isn't.
[Corrected a typo in thread's title]
Intel i7 5960X
Gigabye GA-X99-Gaming 5
8 GB DDR4 (2100)
8 GB GeForce GTX 1070 G1 Gaming (Gigabyte)
Jack probably plays video games like everyone else.....in secret in his underground torture chamber.....
I bet he plays the mod Hellfish made for GTA:SA 😜
that was a kick-ass one
What if I want to play Reversi!? I cant play Reversi on WinXP because the online player either sucks or takes too long!
PiMP-Master J
why do you want to run Windows 1.01?
I had a 1.x or 2.x version of Windows that had the reversi game too. I think you could make it work up until Win95 or so.
I'm sure there are a million freeware reversi/othello games out there that are much better than that one.
Do 1x/2x games work in Windows 3.1?
Yes, at least in my experience (which is limited to that Reversi game as far as I know).
