Hi, I'm using an 16bit program for work, but I'm tired of using the old xp based computer, so trying to get this program to work on windows 10 I stumbled upon dosbox.
The happiness was great when the program started just fine, but it didn't last long, as I have to access some filesystem in the same folder as the program is in, but it just won't read the files, not even say that they are there..
As I don't know anything really about this, I'm kinda stumbling in the dark here!

Is there a kind soul out there who could have a look at the problem, if I posted the program somewhere? Or could tell me where to start debugging?

Thanks in advance!

DOSBox is intended for playing games. It does not support shared file access and thus can corrupt data. Use vDos or vDosPlus, which are based on DOSBox, instead.

Thanks for replying!

After your tip, I've tried vDos and vDosPlus, where vDosPlus was the only program that managed to run my stupid 16bit program, but there was no support for serial connection...
So I guess my only option now is to buy a 32bit version of windows 10 to try if ntvdm will work ..

Thanks again!

vDosPlus can't do actual serial communications, that was added after vDosPlus was discontinued.
