I'm trying to install Windows for Workgroups 3.11 using the original floppies (or at least copies of the original floppies), & once it get's to the GUI-based setup part where it copies the files, DOSBox closes by it's self.
I'm using the latest of ykhwong's builds,
& have turned off EMS & am using the normal core setting, not dynamic. So, can anybody tell me WTF's going on?

I think only Windows 3.1 (not 3.11) works with DOSBox.

I think that W3.11 should work in CVS (though I did not test recently).
I do not know what is wrong - try to use the plain CVS (maybe some patches broke ykhwong's build...).

Would I still be able to run at 1024x786 @ 256?

No - CVS has a limit at 800x600. But to narrow down the problem, you should try. Only that way the responsible developers can help you.
I haven't tried the latest ykhwong's build but Win3.11 is working fine in 12/17. Although, I cannot vouch for setup, haven't done it in a while.
