I've just installed DosBox having a sudden urge to play most of my older dos game again. (It's a great program thanks people 😀 ) Most of the games run fine a few though tend to jump around alot which makes them unplayable. It jumps when the game loads up, the music & audio stutters alot whilst doing this. It happens every time I load the game up.

To name a few that jump are Constructor (v1.0), Blood (v1.0), Alien Trilogy (v1.0), Redneck Rampage (v.10) & Kyrandia Book 2 (v1.0). I have tried all the guides posted here and at various other websites, and have tried disabling all other processes still to no luck. I have also read the readme. Also ive tried running my resolution at 800x600 and the colours at 16bit.

My computer specs are:

Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600 with SP2)
Processor: AMD Sempron Processor 2600+, MMX, 3DNow, ~1.6GHz
RAM: 1024MB
DirectX: 9.0c
Sound: C-Media Wave Device
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500 (with 256.0mb memory)

In case you need anymore info, I will attach a DxDiag report with this post.

Thanks in advanced.

which amount of cpu cycles did you specify ?
Kyrandia book 2 should run quite allright around 7000 cycles.

Your processor is too slow to play Blood or RR rampage with DosBox. They should play fine in XP though, although with reduced sound quality. (and you may have to use NOLFB), and you'll definetly need to use VDMSOUND.
