Hello,

I've been trying to start The 7th Guest in DosBox but without result.
The emulator crashes almost instantly after starting the game, writing to a log file "Exit to Error: CPU:GRP5:Illegal Call 7" if a normal CPU core was used, or "DynCor: Illegal option 0*ff" if the core was set to dynamic.

Tried this on both DosBox 0.65 and DOSBoxCVS, the problem persists.
Im using a P4-3GHz CPU, 512 RAM, Radeon 9600 video card, built-in AC'97 sound card. OS is WinXP SP2.
All other games work fine in DosBox.

Can anything be done about this, and what the heck do the error messages mean?

did you configure sound correctly ?
The messages mean that zero code was executed.

I suppose I did. Use the same sound options for all other DOS games, never met such an error before.

Download the appropriate file from the website above and you can run 7th Guest in Windows. It crashes occasionally but save often and it's not a problem.
