I just started playing the game and noticed that the speech boxes (with the little heads) were the older ones from the text version of the game. Does the dos version not include the nice looking high res heads? is there a way to hack it so it does?

Text version of the game?

I think high res portraits work only in the windows version (should be on the KQ6 CDROM version).

Either install that on Win 3.1(1) in Dosbox or try it on XP...

Unfortunately, the DOS-Version is VGA only, thus it doesn't contain the improved character portraits. Just try playing it in Win XP.

He means the Disc-Version of the Game without speech (thus text 😉 )

The Windows version does not work in XP without a lot of trouble, and even then there is a cursor bug that does not let you see what mode the cursor is in without moving it in and out of the window. If you can get the install disks for Win3x, you can install Win3x in DOSBox and run the game in 3x.
