config.exe from fifa doesn't run from DosBox either. I read this somewhere in the forum too...

But config.exe only generates a fifa.cfg file (I had that file from a old 486 backup). I tried modifying the file in the notepad++ (changing and running), but no luck.

did you try cputype=386_prefetch ?

Config works in SVN and will most likely work in the upcoming DOSBox release.

Try changing FIFA.CFG to this:

1SFX 14,0220h,07,01,-1
2MUSIC 14,0220h,07,01,-1

That should work with the default SB16 config in DOSBox.

EDIT: You can also try this if your system supports GM music:

1SFX 14,0220h,07,01,-1
2MUSIC 02,0330h,02,-1,-1

386_prefetch fixes the issue.
