Could anyone please give me some advice on running elder scrolls arena on a mac?
I get as far as mounting the drive, but then when i try to run arena, it says "this application must be run under win32".
I would really appreciate some help!

Obviously that's not a dos program, but a self-extracting archive.
Try some unpackers, if you don't find any use 7zip/winrar/whatever
on a windows machine and copy the unpacked files to your mac.
i have it working now, if not very slowly
What dosbox version? On non-intel macs it might run pretty slow.
Non intel macs don't have x86 processors which are useful for running some later dos games.

I see, my dos games are too old... 😅

Both intel and power pc macs have the same dosbox compatibility but intel macs have x86 which are needed to play later dos games at normal speed. Dosbox has great dos compatibility.
