Hi, I've been trying to get DoxBox to run Kyrandia 2 for a while now (first time using DoxBox) and I keep getting an error saying "Unable to load Goldfont.fnt", which is weird, because it seems to have the right directories and everything. A quick google gave me a guy with the same problem albeit no solution. I would really appreciate any help here.

Works fine here...
Can you supply some more info please? Like DOSBox version, game version(CD-Talkie or Floppy), and the exact mount commands? Also, did you install the game within DOSBOX?

I installed the game using windows (XP). It's the CD-rom talkie version - Ran commands:

mount C C:\Westwood
mount g "D:\" -t cdrom -ioctl
cd HOFCD
HOFCD

Using Doxbox 0.72, I think.

Yes, I figured you'll say that after I tried reproducing the error without success(I also tried installing from windows).

But then I noticed your CD mount command... It doesn't seem quite right, so I tried starting the game with no CD mounted and it gave me the same error as you, thus, I'm guessing you didn't mount the CD correctly.

Note that if your physical CD-Rom drive is 'G' then your mount command should be:

mount d g:\ -t cdrom

And not the other way around like you wrote.

[edit]
Actually, now that I think of it, if you installed from within DOSBox, it probably means your mount command is OK 😵

OK< I need help with the same issue, running Kyranida II the talkie CD version and loading with DOsBox, so far i cant get it to finish loading. I entered the following commands:

mount C C:\Westwood
mount e d:\ -t cdrom -ioctl
and it loaded fine

then when i tried to enter cd HOFCD
it said it could not switch to that

I just could not get it past that point, can anyone help me? I have gotten this game to run fine with the voice running in the past but am stumped, i really dont understand DOSbox that much so any help will be much appreciated.

i put e in the second command line as my CDDVD is in e drive

for those getting this error the problem may be that you have more than one CD drive (physical or virtual) mounted in dosbox. HOFCD does not remember which drive you installed it from and will check the first CD drive letter for it's CD contents.

so for instance, if you a CD drive mounted as "D:\" and another as "E:\" make sure that "D:\" is the one containing the HOFCD data.
