ultima 8 refuses to even install under DOSBox 0.72

hi.

i installed the latest dosbox on my windows xp machine, fired it up, mounted the ultima 8 directory as c drive, ran install.exe, and when i select "install" i get this :

Halting: Internal Error!
  Where: INSTALL.C - 558

i tried tinkering with different dosbox.conf settings (EMS, core type) but to no avail.
can anyone please point to me what im doing wrong ? since this game should work according to the compatibility charts.

I am able to install the game, add the speech pack, and patch to version 2.12 in DOSBox. I think you may be trying to install from a subdir, and it doesn't like that. Mount the A drive so the install files are in the root of A: and install from there -- that should work.
