Hi, this is my first post here, I am Nx GT-R, I am an OpenSource developer, I love cars, and I am trying to play/use a racing car simulator that I used to play/use in XP

(I write play/use since that isn't a game, but in same way could be called like that)

Software name: CarTest 4.5
Download URL: http://www.cartestsoftware.com/cartest4.5/dow … ads/CarTest.zip
Screenshots: http://www.cartestsoftware.com/cartest4.5/index.html

I am working under Freespire 2.0 (Ubuntu Core), and Installed the latest version of Dosbox (0.72), when I try to run the EXE I just got a tiny red-line square and then come back to ms-dos prompt, I am almost sure this is a “known issue”, I don't think this could be a “new bug”, I am just wondering if someones got the same and if there is something I could do

Thanks in advance.

Works mighty fine for me. I am attaching a script for unpacking and running CarTest 4.5 and the DOSBox configuration file that goes with it.

Note: You will have to edit the run.sh script and provide the correct path to your DOSBox install.

Edit: Updated the archive with new run.sh

Thanks for your help but I got the same exact problem, what I did was:

whereis dosbox (to know wheres my dosbox)
then I got: dosbox: /usr/bin/dosbox

so I replace the script line to:
dosbox="${DOSBOX:-/usr/bin}/dosbox"
(I guess that was right since the dosbox console was opened)

Then ./run.sh

Everything was ok, and the dosbox console was open showing everything was done and finally:
Type CT to start the simulation
(so I know that the dosbox.conf was found too since that message is there)

I got the same little square (I tried at fullscreen too), I upload the picture I got.

By the way, I don't know if this matters but I got this when calling dosbox
DOSBox version 0.72
Copyright 2002-2007 DOSBox Team, published under GNU GPL.

CONFIG:Loading primary settings from config file dosbox.conf
ALSA:Can't subscribe to MIDI port (65:0) nor (17:0)

Thanks in advance
