For some of my adventure games that have interlaced FMV, such as Angel Devoid, Gabriel Knight 2, Zork Nemesis, the intro to Lighthouse, etc, when I play them in DosBox there's a big black line in the middle of the video, horizontal. It's like it's a double interlace at that spot.

I fixed the Gabriel Knight 2 by using the deinterlace patch that someone made.

But the others still have the problem.

Any one know why this might be happening? I tried a variety of cycles and core options but nothing worked.

I'd be really surprised if I was the only one to ever have this problem but maybe so. As I said, it has happened on games that appear to use interlaced video.

Namely:

Gabriel KNight 2 before using the deinterlace patch.

Angel Devoid

Zork Nemesis intro

Lighthouse Intro

Around the middle of the screen there's a double line of interlace, I assume that's what it is. It's the same on all of these games. Just weird coincidence ... No one seen this before?

In case you haven't done this already, try disabling whatever graphics enhancement you may have turned on. Don't resample, rescale, resize or apply any sort of postprocessing, it must look like it would on a real DOS machine, then go fullscreen.

Download the picture below, open it with you fave image viewer and zoom it in and out to several sizes. You will notice that the even lines will look thicker and darker at around 70%. What I'm trying to point out is that something extraneous might indeed be doubling those scanlines as you suggest.

Okay, you were on to something.

I tried changing the scaler first back to none and it didn't have an effect.

Then I changed output from ddraw to surface and it worked.

However, because of that the "windowresolution" isn't changed so it plays in a very small screen. I guess I could change my desktop res to get it larger or play in full screen (I don't really like playing in full screen, a windowed screen that's larger is good for me).

Is there a way to combine the two in any fashion? ie: keep the output so it will work but make it so the windowed resolution is larger without a lot of tinkering or no?

the conf as I showed there WORKS, because the output is changed to surface.

scaler seems to have no effect.

My question is, how can I play in in either surface and make the window larger without changing Windows resolution, is it possible?

Toonstruck(Video Sequence), GK2 - Beast Within (entire Game), "D" ( the entire game).
I think there was few more but I can't remember, I have soo many DOS games. I don't have them installed and am not worried about them at the moment. These are the ones I am playing now.
