Hello,

I have problems with the music tracks of "Soccer Kid" the Cdrom version.

I explain:
First i'll try The floopy version and it works very well music and sound FX. (It's need EMS=False for information)

->I'll buy Recently the Cdrom Version, and impossible to have the music ! For information the music are on audio tracks. It's obvious because on title screen the music seem to start and one second after it's blocking and repeat infinitely. I push the start button and when the first stage begin, this time it's simply, there is no music...

i have tried all i can do: -noitcl and -itcl, iso files, tried on two PC...i don't know what to do now...
I am on windows XP and use DFEND_v2 and DOSBox-0.70

Thanks in advance if someone can help me! 😢

I saw That In the game, the track for the first stage begin and stop after 2 Sec like the title screen ...

I have just tried with d-fend reloaed and dosbox 0.73, it's seem to be the same 🙁 .

I made an iso of the game that you can download here : http://LINK-DELETED

Unless you can provide a good source that says this game is legal to download, we don't like you to use this place as a way of distributing unlicensed games.

I suggest you try the free version here, which should work nicely on new versions of Windows:

The PC version is an abandonware : here, you can download it (but it's the floppy version and it works well...):

The Cdrom version is the Same. The difference is just the music are on audio tracks...It's not OK ?

Thanks

abandonware is not okay. it is an invented term to be indicate that the developer might not care anymore. Still it is illegal

I don't know what is causing this problem, but until someone proves otherwise I will say it is a problem caused by whoever created the download copy. If it is so, then it is not a problem with DOSBox, and trying to solve it will be .... a waste of time. Get a legit copy, and if the problem still is there, then it will be worth investigating.

I am no expert on this music track business, but instead of ISO-images, try what they (the experts) call a BIN/CUE image.

Ok so this one is my configuration with D-Fend reloaded 0.7 and Dos-box 0.73 :

This is an invalid config file for 0.73, please start with a CLEAN one from
the official 0.73 installation.

[autoexec]
mount C "C:"
mount D "D:" -t cdrom
D:
cd\
cd
INSTALL.EXE

I start dosbox
The game install

i run Go.bat, the game start, speed, graphic and sound fx are OK , the music still bugging 😖

config file looks fine now, yeah 😀 I assume this actually is the file that is
loaded by dosbox (check the status window if you're unsure).

I thought you were using a cue/bin pair, what happened to that?
Anyways, for your current mounting try different parameters like
"-t cdrom -ioctl_dx" (check the readme).
