Hello ! I´ve just tried DOSBox 0.58 under MacOS X and I´m very happy about this program except one thing : Ultima Underworld 2 runs only with 5 - 6 fps, which is much too slow for normal playing. Does anyone have a clue ? The funny thing is, that Underworld 1 runs perfectly smooth. 😉

He's running macOS X.
So VDM is out.
I don't know why it runs slower. I don't know if the complexity of ulitma underworld changed between the 2 versions.

Yes, Ultima Underworld 2 is slower than Ultima Underworld 1.
Try:
a) Change cycles/frameskip (see DOSBOX readme)
b) Run in fullscreen.
c) set keepsmall=true in DOSBOX.CONF and do not use scaler
c) Decrease complexity of displayed environment from game menu (there are a few steps - although the game looks uglier then)
d) If you can live without sound, you can increase cycles even more (to the area where sound already skips).

Thanx for fast help. 😎 I´ll try this cycle thing later. Running the game in Fullscreen had no effect on my machine. (2 x 1 Ghz G4, 768 MB RAM)
