Help getting Ascendency run

Hi,

after I've read that the new version of DOSBox supports ascendency, I've tried it and installed it as instructed on the DOSBox site.

setsound and uvconfig runs (more or less) fine, even if I ask myself why
uvconfig finds an S3 Trio 64? But something should be emulated to the dos
box, shouldn't it?

Ok, but when I finally start ascendency, for a while nothing happens. The
screen becomes dark and for half a minute or so, it seems the game is going
to start.

But then: DOSBox fails with:
Fatal signal: Segmentation Fault (SDL Parachute Deployed)

Other games, like Duke Nukem 3D runs fine, so I assumed not a generic problem.

I'm not sure where to start to collect additional information of how to help to solve the problem.

DOSBox emulates an S3 Trio64. :)

IIRC its mentioned in the news.txt file.

Ok, that's quite interesting, but can we come back to the main thread.
I didn't want to start a thread about what should be were documented in what kind of format and structure.

Help!!!
I've compiled the DosBox v0.60 on MacOsX 10.3 Panther, as it says in compatibility list the issues with ascendancy were solved in this release, but when i'm trying to run ascend.exe or setsound.exe the dosbox crashes with reason "Exit to error: INT:Gate Selector points to illegal descriptor with type 12"

on macosX you need to add that patch for GS desciptors first.
(see http://www.sf.net/projects/dosbox section patches)
