Hello fellow DOS gamers!!!

I have been playing The Settlers happily for a week now and i must say DOSBox REALLY ROCKS!!!

But now i was wondering... The Settlers have an excellent two player mode where it splits the screen and you can connect two mice to the computer. The mouse of the second player needs to be connected to one of the COM ports.

But is this possible through DOSBox as its only an emulator?

I heard Qbix talk about not wanting to make this because it would be a virtualilzer and not an emu or something like that?

If so, is there some software maybe that i can use together with DOSBox??

Thanks in advance

this would be a great feature indeed. hardly anything can beat "die siedler" in multiplayer. there's still a possibility to use a joystick instead of a 2nd mouse, but this game isn't meant to be played with a joystick, believe me and i've not tried, if this actually works in. is there a way to make 2 mice work, or are there plans for future releases of dosbox which could possibly allow this?

(Technically this belongs in /Dosbox/Dev/)

Here is some useful links to get any programmers out there started;
I'm quite tied up at the moment, so if left to me, I'd say 2x mice support in the next 6-8 months (WinXP/2k only) 😢

Hi,

any news about 2-Mice-Support? Can´t believe that -this- is such a big problem! Disapointed, finally a good DOS-Emu, Settlers 1 is running fine, but no way to connect a second (serial) mouse! 🤐 Also with "direct serial" the mouse will not be recognised by "Settlers". What is the problem?

Please add this feature! Either program a -100%- DOS-Emu, or just let it be - my disapointed opinion! 🙁

well as I said earlier. I do not see use for it. so it will not happen.
