running the latest cvs build (or the official 0.60...doesn't matter) on a 1ghz athlon & win2k... i've following problems:

no mouse-pointer in tim1
major sound and speed problems in any other tim-game

any suggestions or is it just not compatible at the moment?

this has been fixed as far as i know
(a few days ago.)
At least the isue that the mouse pointer can not be used.

for the meanwhile try configuring the game to use pcspeaker for sound as it happends with soundblaster only.

But it's fixed.
