Need help with patching Warlords 2 Deluxe

Hi.

My version of Warlords 2 Deluxe is currently 2.0(2). I don't know what the '(2)' refers to, but I think the version is '2.0'. The game plays fine and I can even get the networking to work, but I cannot patch the game to the latest version.

I've downloaded the 2.0>2.2.4 from here:

Then I extracted 'w2dp20.zip' to w2deluxe\w2dp20 and ran 'PATCH.EXE' from DOSBox. The patcher starts to patch the game, but it ends with the error:

Applying MODIFY File Patch for 'CONN.EXE'

error ept0015: Old Files does not exist

What am I doing wrong? Is my version of the game bad? Is the patch bad?

I think I found the fix. I downloaded the 'Warlords II Deluxe fix for Pentium/Pentium PRO' from the same site and simply extracted these already updated files to the install folder overriding the old files. Now when I run the game it says that it's version 2.2.4. 😀

Could this method of updating the game cause issues, though? I mean, is the game updated correctly? It seems so.
