Fury of the furries / DOSBox 0.6 / Linux RH9

Wondering if this is a problem with my hardware/linux but i get really quite violent flicking of some parts of the level on the lagoon levels whenever a character is near water or under water. Anyone else that's been playing this on DOSBox noticed this?
