I copied the whole GK CD to my hard drive. I start GK in Dosbox and it works GREAT. but then, about 3 minutes into the game, the sound starts skipping. I figured out that I can press ctrl-f12 a few times to bring it back even, but that slows the whole game down. How can i set dosbox so it stays the way it does when I start the game?

I'm running on XP. I have a P4 2.0Ghz. I got the
cycles = 6440
memsize =32

Should I mess around with the blocksize or rate? Please help me! I'm so close!

you tried adjusting the audiosize in the RESOURCE.CFG file?
by the way, don't go to far with Ctrl+12... approximately 6000 cycles is probably as high as you can let it run without problems.
it should run decently with approximately 5000 cycles though...

if that all doesn't work, use the search option of this forum and search for a Gabriel Knight topic.
in that topic is described how we got it to work.

well... maybe GK supports other soundcards in the setup/install.
try them all out, see if they do any better for you.

I am not familiar with "GK CD", but I've been hunting for
this audio bug for a while now (and almost have him..)
It seems to show if you have VGA+EMS+adlib+SoundBlaster.

You could try disable adlib support (use "Roland" synth if possible).

Just wanted to add that you should use General MIDI instead of roland cause we don't have roland emulator yet.

You should also try disabling EMS in dosbox (ems=false). Sierra games can work with both xms and ems.
