did you mount your CDrom correctly ?

Well, they can not answer, because I had walked out. I would like to help you, if needed.

Maybe, just maybe, the mounts are wrong: in several GOG games (I don't have that particular one) the cue/bin pair is hidden as <somename>.gog for the bin and <somename>.inst for the cue. If that game's like that, you're just mounting the bin and need to mount the cue. E.g homm1.inst.

I assume you gave GOG.com your money for this game. So you can rely on them for support. I am not sure why we should take over their jobs.

Because ones of GOG.com not grasping, and does not understand the issue at. Unfortunately they are like those people who tell you "arranged and manage on your own, we can't help." And sadly it is.

Music appears to work on the titlescreen just fine. Is there a different place I should check ?
Maybe reinstall the game if the music is missing for you at the titlescreen.

The version of the game that I'm using, instead, is dated 1995, so it is version 1.3. And that's what I'm talking about, the game unfortunately missing the music, while the sound effects are there.

2.1.0.38 is the version of the GOG installer that I am talking about.

If there isn't music for you at the titlescreen, please redownload the game and reinstall it.
If there is music for you at the titlescreen, then please tell me where I should check for the missing music.

In the titlescreen it's present a New World Computing bumper, with original music audio, and HOMM1 music intro. In the menu screen, and another scenarios of the game, the music is missing.

Which version of the GOG installer do you have ?
I have music playing just fine in 2.1.0.38.
