I wanted to record the first level of Terminator: Future Shock yesterday but the video contained no music at all. The sound effetcs are all there, but the music is missing completely. I then tried another game, Fatal Racing, and again, no music was recorded.

The Wiki mentions MIDI not emulated through DosBox but getting passed through to the operating system and it's audio hardware.

Is there any workaround for this behaviour or any smart way to record the music in the video directly?

What OS are you using and what software did you use to record? Also, what MIDI device do you have?

The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don't know.

The only way to go recording midi and video in one is to use another screen recorder than Dosbox' built in one
