Hello there.

Well i'm completely new to this board, but i do have a problem with Transport Tycoon. I do not yet have TTDX, so i have to handle with this version.
The only way to run it properly is using the dynamic core. But it always crashes after some minutes of gameplay and i have no more idea what to do.

It does not work in "normal" mode, and "full" mode is much too slow...

What can i do? Any ideas?

Thanks

If you have a floppy drive you shouldn't have a problem booting to DOS. The only issue would be if your HDD is formatted to NTFS rather than FAT16/32, in which case chances are you won't be able to read it. Also in my personal experience booting from floppy tends to result in things running slower, but this doesn't tend to bear out across the board.

An alternative would be to try OpenTTD, which is an open source SDL implementation (ie. Windows/Macintosh/Linux/BeOS, etc. etc.) of Transport Tycoon Deluxe. It is made by the same guy who did ScummVM, so it is a product of the highest quality (completely reverse engineered, I believe, since the original product was made in 100% assembly language).

Download the TTDX from http://www.the-underdogs.org, then go to http://www.ttdpatch.net/ to get the latest patch, then just play under XP.

Works like a charm.

P.S.
If you have any questions about TTDX you could go to a dedicated forum: http://ttforums.owenrudge.net/
