Hey guys, i m using dosbox for the first time i downloaded via the package manager (debian), mounted the directory needed. when i launch the game ( wspeed by Bsqwit ) the screen turns fuzzy and red. i tried some suggestions online but wont fix my problem can someone help please

The screen flashing red is mentioned in WSPEED.TXT, and happens when the game thinks the system is too slow. The text file also says that EGA is required, and it seems the game's speed calculation is thrown off by the faster refresh rate of VGA.
If you use the machine=ega setting then the red flashing should not appear. However, if you use any VGA machine type, such as the default machine=svga_s3 setting, then you'll need to increase cycles to 4000 (cycles=4000 in conf file or press Ctrl-F12 to increase while DOSBox is running), possibly more, to avoid the red flashing.
