I'm running DOSBox 0.74 in a Fedora 28 VM.

Everything is running really well except for one odd problem.

I can execute Tandy Deskmate 3.5x. It loads and allows me to create new documents with the text processor.

However, Deskmate cannot access it's own configuration files (*.CFG files). Whenever I try to make a change to the desktop, or start a program that first reads a .CFG file, I get an error such as, "Cannot create the configuration file DESKTOP.CFG". When I am starting a program such as HANGMAN.PDM, it simply doesn't start, and I get the error message, "File not found", meaning (I guess) that Deskmate could not load the HANGMAN.CFG file.

I have tried everything I could think of related to permissions, filenames, disk types, etc., with no luck.

If anyone has any pointers as to where else I might look, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
