Ok well I have kind of an odd thing. I got an old pc and a modern pc. I might try and get 'Z' to work on the network. The old pc can just run the game in dos, while the newer pc needs dosbox. The network is just a 2-pc home network with 2 network cards. Would it be able to start a multiplayer game on it or is that impossible?

Any help would be appreciated!

with the current version of dosbox (0.63) it is not possible to play ipx-based multiplayergames in a mixed environment (dosbox <=> dos/win95). in theory it should be possible to write a program which tunnels the clients ipx-traffic over tcp/ip in order to connect to a dosbox or the other way round. however i'm not that much into coding but i guess it is not an extremly hard thing to do. perhaps some parts of the dosbox-code could be reused for the ipx-tcp/ip-demon. :>
