I did not try it recently, so the following may be outdated (though I think it is still like that in CVS):

MOUSE - did you choose PS/2 mouse? Do not use dynamic core. I also remember that sometimes (rarely) mouse did not work. I just ended DOSBOX, started it again and it was ok.

/b switch means not showing the splash screen... It used to be necessary because otherwise there was video init. error. Not needed any more.

But if you use win /b it starts in normal mode, not enhanced mode, right ?

What about using more switches... 😀

If you are using WFW 3.11, it will always start in enhanced mode (it does not support standard mode).

I found the solution:

If you use ANY switch, it will go to standard mode. The mouse works when I used a different CVS version AND disabled EMS.

EDIT: okay I managed to get my SB16 working too 😁

Okay this sucks. For no apparent reason what so ever, Win 3.1 suddenly won't boot up anymore. It gives an error saying "invalid MS DOS version" or something (it's in Dutch). Any idea why?

Don't know, it was hard enough to track all those
"invalid dos versions" anyways, and it still is quite
sensible to changes (although i think it start (not
runs;) quite stable now).
And try to not press any keys when windows
starts up.

Finally found why my build was not working correctly. As I thought back then, I didn't have the correct DirectX-headers and thus dosbox compiled but without DirectDraw support 😀
Today I had time to resetup my mingw/msys environment and do a correct build.
