Hi,

I downloaded DOSBox version 0.63 ( and the most updated version of VDMSound is already installed ) from this website and I am trying to play a game named "METAL MUTANT" so I run the game from DOSBox...

When the game loads there is two option to choose from:

F1 - CGA
F2 - VGA

at this point when you choose any of the to option the screen become black and nothing else...

What can I do to play the game???

use the cvs version
it's fixed there.
or find a different version of the game.
There is one "cracked" variant that crashes.
One other works
(both work in the cvs)

Thank you both...
Well now the game runs after that I installed the cvs version...

but there is one more problem:
** the sound is not clear, there is some noise **

Can I do any thing about that ????

Metal Mutant never had that good of sound to begin with, being that it used the PC speaker to play digitized sound effects. DOSBox does seem to have a problem with popping sounds in the PC speaker emulation though - I'm holding out hope that the devs will find time to look into it eventually 😀
