Does anyone here know how to fix or get around Error 48? This error occurs when I try to enter my room at the Inn on the first day. The game freezes and then boots me out.
I'm running the CD (not anthology) version on WinXP/SP2 in DOSbox, but I get the same error when I play the game with VDMSound.
Does the anthology version fix this bug?

Odd...I own the CD version I don't see this error. Perhaps you should try lowering the cycles a bit. Did you get past the swamp slide bug? If so, and your still getting this error, thats quite odd.
Does the error occur the very SECOND the door makes the closing sound? I recall those errors a long time ago....I used to fear the door closing sound altogether! 😀 Try removing soundeffects in the install (select nothing for speech) and see if it still occurs.
Well are you certain you are playing it with dosbox ?
as it tends to happen if you don't use dosbox.
