I'm running Windows XP Pro. I can install System Shock, but when I try to run it, it says that I need to adjust the FILES setting in config.sys to FILES=30. How do I use DOSBox to do this?

Which version of DosBox are you using?
System Shock works for me with DosBox v0.63.
There has been some FILES problems fixed in the CVS but System Shock should work fine....unless your using a version older than 0.63.
I'm running 0.63. I get the opening video, get to the game setup screen, but then the game crashes with the error message that I have insufficient memory for the email cursor, and suggests that I increase FILES to 30.
Hmmm, weird....
Which ver of SS? I'm using vF1.5s, floppy ver.
Found this: Use CONFIG.SYS in DosBox (system shock)
Make sure you mounter your CD.
I'm using the CD version.
I mounted the the drive using the -t cdrom command. Seems to work just fine, as I installed the game this way.
