An application I am using keeps complaining that it cannot open it's log file "except.lst". It appends the file every time a change is made. There is no option in the application to turn off the log file or change it. I keep getting the error "Cannot open EXCEPT.LST : Permission Denied". The file is present and I have removed all permissions from it.

Maybe it uses a specific program to append files that is not present in DosBox?

Any ideas?

I am not sure. Perhaps the message itself is inaccurate?

I think DOSBox does not support the system and the hidden file attributes. Perhaps your application tries to make the EXCEPT.LST file hidden and mis-interpretetes the error code from DOSBox?

Are you sure you are running with full permissions?

Are you sure the program is expecting that file to be in the same path?
