I'm having problems with Settlers 2. It says the CD isn't there. I've tried running it in DOSBox and in windows with VDMSound and SAPUCDEX. I get the same error. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Do you have the CD mounted? What's that, you're running a pirated version and don't have the original CD?
1) Buy the CD.
2) Get a crack and if that doesn't work then try mounting some other CD instead and see if that helps.
Actually, I do have the original CD and it is mounted, and I know it's working cause I was able to install it ok. It's just Settlers 2 doesn't recognize it for whatever reason.
Cool. Have you tried the advanced mounting options in DOSBox? (-ioctl and -usecd)
This is the mount command I'm using right now.
mount d d:\ -t cdrom -usecd 0 -ioctl
Hmm, have you tried copying the CD into a folder on the Hard Drive, then mounting that folder as a CD-ROM? I've gotten a few stubborn games working with that trick, maybe it'll work for you.
No, that didn't work either.
I think you don't need the cd at all if you don't want to see the intro movie. I don't use mine. Run s2.exe.
ok, that worked.
