I installed DOSBox in an attenpt to continue using an old piece of DOS-based industrial software. The software ran fine under Win2K until sp2 was installed. It seems that sp2 broke the program's ability to access Com1. Unfortunatly even running it within DOSBox does not allow it to access any com ports. This complete scenario has been reproduced on many PC's. Any suggestions, tweaks, hacks, etc. would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

The direct access to serial port is switch off by default. See DOSBOX.CONF (directserial).
You may want try much improved version (direct serial in 0.63 is a bit buggy). There is a thread in DOSBOX Patches forum.
