I know that this has been posted before, but for the life of me I can not get daggerfall to run on dos box. In windows, with the dag.bat file (edited to @fall.exe z.cfg) it works fine, too slow, choppy sound, and it's hard to move around, but other than that... it runs.

However, no matter what I change the settings to in dosbox, I get the illegal opcode error. And a wonderful smattering of dancing colored pixels... or it just cops out totally and completely.

Here's what I have in my dosbox config file, I copied it from a site that said this was the best way to run it. ><

- make sure to reconfigure the sound to work with the emulated hardware in DOSBox
- try giving DOSBox more memory, like 32 instead of 16
- try the full and dynamic cores
- try a recent CVS build of DOSBox (see the development forum)
- try DOS32A if it uses DOS4GW (don't remember)
- post the exact error message if you can

I haven't tried running Daggerfall in DOSBox myself yet, as I don't expect it to run fast enough on my Athlon XP 3200+ to let me enjoy it. I probably should give it a try.

What are your system specs? What kind of sound card are you using? I have Daggerfall working on my AMD system w/ Audigy gamer card. maybe I can get you going. If you want, just PM me.
