Hi.

A few weeks ago I tested WarCraf II (original version from 1994) in multiplayer with DOSBox 0.73. At that time I ran Windows XP on both computers used. And, well, it worked...

Now I installed Windows 7 on one computer and it doesn't work anymore.

I can connect via
serial1=nullmodem rxdelay:10000
and I see when the client has connected in Status Window "Serial1: A client <correct ip> hast connected"

But if I start the game and try to start multiplayer, I just get the following error in both DOSbox Status Windows:
"Serial1: Errors occured: Framing 0, Parity 0, Overrun 1 <IFO:0>, Break 0"

I tried to shutdown my ZoneAlarm firewall, but with no effect. I also tried Port 5000. Didn't work either.

So. Whats wrong?

I repeat: The same configuration worked with Windows XP.

Additional info:
Before the errors I get a warning:
"Serial1: Warning: Tried to activate FIFO"
Is this important?

And after I shut down WarCraft II is says
"Warning: file c:\war2\WAR2.INI exists and failed to open in write mode."
But there is no write protection for this file.

Maybe these warnings are somehow connected to my problem. Sorry for posting that not before.

Uhm. Does anybody else have problems with Windows 7 and DOSBox networking?
I guess there's more settings to play with (from Windows' side) cos for example I can "see" other computers from Win7 with UltraVNC but not vice versa (but you can if you use a bunch of tricks).

I use a installed copy of an original War-II-CD back from 1994.
I think my settings in War II are correct (same baud rate etc.)

Is there maybe some old dos game with multiplayer mode free to download, with which I could test if the same problem appears as in WAR II?
