G'day all, I've got a bit of an issue with the SpeedEasy jumper-less configuration on my motherboard. The CPU I have is a Pentium MMX 200 MHz, and setting the correct settings for it (66x3) result in reporting as running at 100 or 150MHz. Has anyone else seen this happen before and know how to correct it? Thanks in advance!

Hi UltimateElectronic,

I did some work on this QDI TIB+ board back in 2003, but only used AMD CPUs on it.
I’ve tested both the latest official V1.5SL Jun.5,1998 BIOS and the V1.5SB Jan.07,2000 beta BIOS with various K6-2 models, but never saw the SpeedEasy jumper-less settings problem you describe.

To determine if it is a BIOS issue, can you tell us:
1) which BIOS version do you use?
2) Is the problem present when using Speed Mode in SpeedEasy or Jumper Emulation or both?
3) is the incorrect CPU speed shown only by the BIOS SpeedEasy menu?
4) Is the CPU speed on the BIOS boot screen reported correctly?
5) Is the CPU speed correct if you run a CPU Identification tool like Chkcpu after boot-up?

With this additional info, I should be able to tell you if the problem is in the BIOS.

Happy New Year,
Jan.
