i made a new version of GamepadDB15: GamepadDB15 V2 .
The previous version was all through hole (see GamepadDB15 : use Atari/C64/Sega joystick/gamepad as PC joystick)
The new board sticks to the same concept, but is SMT + through hole connectors : more compact and with dip switch settings instead of jumpers.
I tested with my sega master system gamepad and it works well.
The X and Y pots allow to calibrate, normally only needed once per pc.
If someone has a large collection of 9 pin joysticks, and wants to help test compatibility, pm me.
I will send you a free test unit.
